J.T. FLYNN DIES TODAY;

ILL A WEEK

Lived in City 60 Years;

Employed at Victoria Elevator Co.

Joseph T. Flynn, 405 West Eighth street, a resident of Davenport for the last 60 years, died at 3:55 a.m. today at Mercy hospital after an illness of one week's duration.

Mr. Flynn was born in Covington, Ky., June 20, 1864. He was married to Miss Mary M. Fee, June 23, 1886, by the late Very Rev. D.J. Flannery in St. Anthony's church. During his many years of residence in this city he was an ardent Democrat and active in the affairs of the political party. Mr. Flynn was a painter by trade and for 20 years he was employed by the Tri-City Railway Co. In recent years he has been employed by the Victoria Elevator Co.

Surviving besides one daughter, Mrs. Arnold Andresen, Davenport; one sister, Mrs. W.H. Holliday, Davenport, two brothers, M.J. and Leo E., Davenport; and five grandchildren. He is also survived by four nephews, two nieces, and one grandnephew. His mother preceded him in death two years ago.

The body was removed to the Halligan Funeral Home and returned to the late home this afternoon from where the funeral will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday with services at 10 o'clock at St. Anthony's church. Burial will be made in St. Marguerite's cemetery.

The Flynn Funeral

The Funeral of Joseph T. Flynn was held today from the family home, 405 West Eighth street, with services at 10 o'clock at St. Anthony's church. An unusually large number of friends and relatives attended. The Rev. Harvey Finefield of Oxford, Iowa, was celebrant of solemn requiem high Mass; the Rev. Edward A. Kartheiser, C.SS.R. deacon; the Rev. J.W. Bulger, sub deacon, and the Rev. J.P. Quinlan, master of ceremonies.

The Rev. J.W. Bulger pronounced the burial absolution and preached the funeral sermon. The Rev. Finefield, assisted by the Rev. Quinlan, officiated at the committal services in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
At the Offertory of the Mass, Mrs. E.J. O'Donnell sang an "Ave Maria." At the conclusion Mrs. E.J. O'Donnell, Mrs. E.B. McColloch and Mrs. George W. Sternsdorf sang "Our Father" and at the recessional "Jesus, Jesus, Dearest Lord."

Pallbearers were H.E. Bergendahl, Joseph Tichenor, Owen Sweeney,Thomas Gannon, William Redmond and Benjamin Finefield.
