OBITUARY.

BROWN.

Mark J. Brown died at 2:30 a.m. today,a t the residence of his father-in-law, John H. Muckle, 1803 Harrison street. Mr. Brown was a former city editor of the Davenport Gazette and also of the Davenport Herald, and widely esteemed in this city. He was born in New York city in 1854. He left Davenport about seven years ago, where he assumed an editorial position on the Fond du Lac Commonwealth. From there he went to Parkridge, a suburban town a couple of miles from Chicago, where he made his home up to six weeks ago, when he was taken to this city, his health permitting, for he was stricken with paralysis last December and was not very strong since. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Oakdale.
