OBITUARY.
Benefiel.At 1:30 Monday afternoon occurred the death of Mary Elizabeth Benefiel, wife of W.M. Benefiel, who lives on the Locust street road, half a mile west of the Fair Grounds. Deceased was a native of New England and came to Davenport in 1870. The cause of her death was Bright's disease. She is survived by her husband, four children and a step-daughter. The children are W.J. Higgins of Burlington; S.E. Higgins of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. L.M. Avery of Ayrshire, Iowa; Harold Benefiel of this city, and Mrs. N.A. Wells of Newton, Iowa.
Mrs. Benefiel was twice married, her first husband being Dr. A.J. Higgins.

BENEFIEL.
Mrs. William M. Benefiel died Monday afternoon at 1:35 o'clock after a long illness. She was born in Vermont Nov. 23, 1833. Mrs. Benefiel's first husband's name was Higgins. By that marriage there are three children, W.J. Higgins, of Burlington; S.E. Higgins, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Mrs. L.M. Avery, of Ayershire, Ia. With her husband she leaves one son, Harold Benefiel, employed in the postoffice, and a step-daughter, Mrs. E.J. Wells, of Newcomb, Ia. The funeral will be held this morning. at 9:30 o'clock from the residence with burial at Oakdale.
