Harold Hobart

Harold M. Hobart, 77, formerly of Rt. 2, died early this morning at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, following an extended illness.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Riley Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Loots will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Harold Hobart was born Feb. 5, 1901, in Muscatine, the son of William and Dora Edgington Hobart. He had lived in Muscatine most of his life before moving to Davenport 3 1/2 years ago.

His marriage to Marybell Gilmore took place Oct. 19, 1927, in Rockford, Ill. Hobart had owned and operated his own trucking business for over 44 years before retiring in 1974.

Survivors include his wife of 4611 Warren St., Davenport; two daughter, Mrs. Russell (Hilda) Johns of Muscatine and Mrs. Marlin (Evelyn) Grady of Davenport; four grandchildren; one brother, Carl of Muscatine; and one sister, Mrs. Lafe (Gladys) Westerfelt of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by one son and a brother.
