OBITUARY.

ALLEN.

Aaron D. Allen died at his home, 126 East Seventeenth street last night at 9:15 o'clock of consumption resulting from an attack of the grip three years ago. He was 58 years and 6 months old and leaves a wife and six children--three boys and three girls. He was born in Holmesburg, Pa., and has been in this city for 28 years. Mr. Allen served through the war in the Fourth Indiana cavalry, as bugler. The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from Sacred Heart cathedral with burial at St. Marguerite's cemetery.

OBITUARY.

ALLEN.

Saturday at 9:15 p.m. occurred the death of long-time and highly respected resident of Davenport, Aaron D. Allen, No. 126 East Seventeenth street. A wife and six children, the youngest eight years of age, survive to mourn his loss.

Mr. Allen was born in Hollisburg, Pa., in 1834, and had reached the age of fifty-eight years and six months. On August 14, 1862, he enlisted in the Union army and served all through the war. He was bugler in the Fourth Indiana cavalry under Lieut. Charles McCreary and showed himself a loyal and patriotic fighter for his country's cause.

Of late years Mr. Allen has been engaged in contracting work. He has a brother James Allen in Davenport, and a sister living in Pennsylvania. The funeral will take place Monday morning with services at Sacred Heart cathedral at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
