Obituary

OTTEN.

Sunday evening at 8:45 occurred the death of one of Davenport's oldest and best known residents, Mr. Joseph Otten, at the family resident 1428 Sturtevant street. About three weeks ago Mr. Otten was attacked with a stroke of paralysis, and although slightly recovering for a short time, he again succumbed to the attacks of the dread disease, being what is termed progressive paralysis. For the last ten days his entire right side was completely paralyzed, and his death was only a question of time.

Mr. Otten was an old resident of the city, having resided here for many years and engaged in the brick manufacturing business, and at the time of his death was about 70 years of age. He leaves three children, one son, John H., and two daughters, Mrs. H. Yucans and Mrs. Joseph Klase, both of whom resided here. The eldest daughter, Mrs. Cooper, resides in Kansas. The time of the funeral has not as yet been definitely announced.
