Obituary

BREWSTER.

At the residence of Miles A. Collins, Dec. 21, 1891, occurred the death of a noble woman, Mrs. Jerusha Collins Brewster. She was the only sister of the late W.S. Collins and the wife of the late Moses Brewster of Rockford, Mass. Mrs. Brewster was born Jan. 1st, 1809, in Litchfield county, Conn. She was energetic, earnest and faithful. But mind culture. however. prominent in her consideration, was held of secondary importance to a religious life. When quite young she united with the Congregational church of Blandford. She came to Davenport in 1854 and was one of the organizers of the Edwards Congregational church in 1861 and has ever since been numbered among the most worth and consistent members. Her life was one of retirement, spent in the service of Christ. Now she dwells forever with that Savior in whom she trusted, served so faithfully and loved so long. Her spirit has "returned to God who gave it." The funeral will take place this afternoon from the residence of Miles A. Collins. South avenue, north of Locust street, with interment at Oakdale.
