Obituary

GOODRICH.

Yesterday morning between 5 and 6 o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. A.O. Goodrich at her home on Main street between Fifteenth and Sixteenth streets. Death came to her without warning. She arose at her usual time, a little after 5 o'clock and went down into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for her husband who is a harness maker at the Arsenal. He came into the kitchen in a few moments and found her holding her hands to her head exclaiming that she had a terrible headach. He went at once up stairs to get some remedies but on his return found her lying on the floor and with the appearance of death stamped on her face. Dr. Cantwell was summoned but could do nothing. It was thought that her death was caused from apoplexy. She leaves with her husband a bright little son aged six or seven years. She was but 37 years of age and had lived in Davenport about five years. The husband will have the sympathy of the entire community in his sudden and sad bereavement.
