Obituary

BERGER.

Sunday night at 8 o'clock at his residence occurred the death of Dr. P.F. Berger, aged 78 years. Dr. Berger was born in Heide, Holstein, in September, 1813 and came to America about forty years ago, locating first in Indiana where he began the practice of his profession, having graduated in medicine in Heidelburg. He afterwards removed to Chicago, where he soon built up a large practice. About 20 years ago he gave up his profession and came to Davenport, which has been his home ever since. During his residence here he made many warm friends who will sincerely mourn his death. He leaves with his wife, one son, Edward, a member of the firm Staby, Berger & Snell. Dr. Berger was of a retiring disposition but a man of strong character and one whom all could not but admire. The past year or so he has been in ill health, and, while not confined to his room at all times, yet much of the time being unable to be out.

The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o'clock from his late residence, 411 West Second street, with interment in Oakdale.
