Richard L. Lyons, 48, of Bettendorf, former Fairfield resident, died while jogging Saturday morning, Aug. 15, 1992

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Family visitation will follow at the church. A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary on Kimberly Road in Davenport, with visitation there from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial of ashes will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley. Memorials have been established to Pleasant Valley Athletic Department at Pleasant Valley High School at Bettendorf, Fairfield High School Athletic Department, or charity of donor's choice.

Lyons was born Aug. 21, 1943, in Fairfield the son of Dale W. and Lucille Cornell Lyons. He attended Jefferson County schools and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1962. A pilot for United Express Airlines, he was co-owner of B-Flight in Fairfield for several years. He married Linda ?. Hollander on June 29, 1963, in Fairfield. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert of Davenport, Roger of Daytona Beach, Fla., Randy at home; his father; two sisters, Thelma Decker of Las Vegas, Nev., Betty Gray of Fairfield and a brother, Bill of Fairfield. His mother preceded him in death.
