Rhuberg Funeral Held at Durant
Services Held for Former Stockton Man Saturday; Burial at Durant
Stockton — Funeral services for Jergen Ruhberg, of Plainview, a former Stockton resident, were held at the Durant chapel at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Durant Cemetery.
Mr Ruhberg committed suicide by hanging himself to the bedpost at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gus Hering, at Plainview.
He was born Oct. 21, 1852, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to America and directly to Davenport in 1880. On May 20, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Gimm in Davenport. She preceded him in death Dec. 29 1919.
In 1884 the couple moved on a farm near new Liberty and for the past 24 years Mr. Ruhberg had been retired from active life. He lived in Stockton until the death of Mrs. Ruhberg. Since then he had lived among his children.
His survivors are four daughters, Mrs John Frahm, of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. H. F. Holst, of Walcott, Mrs. Gus Hering, Plainview, and Mrs. Leonard Paustian, of Bennett; three sons, George Rugberg, of Mt. Joy, Adolph, of Lost Nation, and Edward Ruhberg, of Huron, S. D.; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A sister in
Germany also survives.
