FOLLETTS, Iowa – Services for Nancy L. Porter, 61, of Folletts, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Porter died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998 at her home.
She and her husband owned and operated Porter’s Cycle Sales, Folletts, since 1967. She was a registered motorcycle mechanic, specializing in BMWs.
Nancy L. McFate was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Bettendorf to Howard C. and Arvilla (Watkins) McFate. She married Alvin Porter on March 31, 1967, in Rockford, Ill.
She was a member of Moose Lodge 363, Clinton.
She enjoyed taking motorcycle trips.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include her husband, stepdaughters and son-in-law, Sonya and Steve Schroeder, Goose Lake, and Connie Dannatt, Phoenix; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Kathy Porter, Camanche, and Eugene and Brenda Dannatt, Phoenix; grandchildren, Courtney McFate Johnson, Davenport, and Jerry Carber Jr., Dubuque; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Carber, Dubuque, and Ryan McFate, LeClaire; and a brother and sister-in-law, Howard “Sonny” and Sandy McFate, LeClaire.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a daughter, Carolyn Phillips, in 1981; and a sister, Frances Dyer, in October, 1997.
