WILLIAM A. PETERS
William A. Peters, 83, died Sunday in Ridgecrest Retirement Village in Davenport after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Frick funeral home in Durant with Rev. Gerald Unkena of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Memorial Park cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
William A. Peters was born in Clinton to August and Johanna Peters. He married Minnie Frerichs on Aug. 26, 1907, in Clinton. He farmed and later operated the Peters Hotel in Wheatland. He moved to DeWitt where he lived for three years and then moved to Durant where he lived with a daughter.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Helen Petersen of Durant, Mrs. Edwin (Bernice) Johannsen of Maysville, and Mrs. Lester (Ardelle) Davis of Clinton; two sons, Earl of Bettendorf, and Roy of Casper, Wyo.; one brother Bernie of Parsons, Kan., two sisters, Mrs. Adele Blinkinsop of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Erna Reusche of Clinton, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
