DAVENPORT - Josephine K. "Jo" MOTTET, 58, of Betterndorf, former area resident, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, following an extended illness.
The service was Wednesday morning at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, where she was a member. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. MOTTET was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Cloyd and Una SMITH CORNICK. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955. On Oct. 11, 1958, she married Jerry MOTTET in Iowa City. She was employed as a clerk in the Bettendorf Community Schools, currently working in the library at Bettendorf Middle School. She had been a nurse at Mercy Hosptials and Clinics, both in Iowa City, from 1958-1969.
She was a member TTT, and a member and past president of the Bettendorf Secretarial Association. Favorite pastimes were boating, golf, Iowa Hawkeye sports, and cross stitch.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, David of Minneapolis, Michael of Atlanta, Chad of Bettendorf; her parents of Fairfield; a brother, James CORNICK of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.
