MAYSVILLE, Iowa --

Services for Bernice Anna Johannsen, Maysville, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Bernice died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Bernice was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Dickens. She was a daughter of William and Minnie (Frerichs) Peters.

She married Alvin Puls in 1931 in Davenport. He died in 1946. She married Edwin Johannsen on Oct. 16, 1948, in Davenport.

Bernice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to tell jokes. Memorials may be made to Maysville Fire Department or a favorite charity.

She is survived by husband, Edwin; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sally Puls, Eldridge; grandchildren, Sue Strazewski and Steve Puls, both of Eldridge, Tim Puls, Davenport, and Tami Rowley of Michigan; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Ardelle Heckman, Clinton.
