Services for Henry "Whistle" Willich, 70, of 120 Franklin St., Buffalo, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Friends Church, Buffalo. Burial will be in Rome Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary. Additional visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family, Buffalo Ambulance Service, or the church, of which he was a member.
Mr. Willich died Saturday at Davenport Medical Center.
He retired in 1973 as a street commissioner for the city of Buffalo. He previously was employed by Dewey Portland Cement Co., Buffalo.
Mr. Willich married Gladys Messer in 1940 in Davenport.
He was a Navy veteran of Worl War II.
He was a member of Buffalo Veterans of Foreign Wars 6078 and American Legion, Walcott, and a 50-year member of Knights of Pythias
Survivors include His wife; a daughter Nancy (Mrs, John) Iliss, Buffalo; a son Fred, Byron, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Tyler, Buffalo; Dorothy Stander, Walcott; and Opal Holderman, Lakeville, Ind.; and brothers, Edwin, Buffalo, and Melvin Waltz, Tipton, IA.
