Bamford Messer

Bamford H. Messer. 84, Erie, formerly of Davenport, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1993. at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Services are at 1 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time today. Memorials may be made to Erie Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Mr. Messer was born Feb. 13, 1909, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Charles and Mae Hill Messer. He married Dorothy Larson in 1934, in Rock Island. She died in 1986. He married Olive Shilling in 1988 in Davenport.

He retired in 1974 from Davenport City Lines as a bus driver after 33 years.

He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Joyce Jones, Davenport; a son, Terrill Messer, Glen Head, N.Y.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several stepchildren, and stepgrandchildren.
