Vernie Dollins

DAVENPORT --- Funeral services for Vernie W. Dollins, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mr. Dollins died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Genesis Medical Care Center-West Campus, Davenport. He retired in 1980 after 45 years as a ceramic tile seller for Building Trades in the Quad City area. He was born Oct 8, 1918, in Monette, Ark. He married Esther Messer in 1940 in Keosauqua, Iowa. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Grandview Baptist Church, Davenport. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Colleen Trede, Pittsburgh; sons, Ron D. and James E., both of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dollins, on Jan. 26, 1998.
