The death of Mrs. James McMahan occurred yesterday at her home on west Fifth Street. Mrs. McMahan has been a resident of Iowa since 1857, and much of that time, at least, a resident of Davenport. She was 53 years of age, and was born in County Clare, Ireland. She was the mother of a very large family. Ten children are left with her husband to mourn her loss, and four children are dead. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 o’clock from St. Mary’s church. (Died of anemia.)
Mary, died in 1892 of anemia and was originally buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in 1892. She was reburied in Holy Family Cemetery in 1901.
