WOMAN, 60, FOUND DEAD IN HOME BY A DAUGHTER
Mrs. Hannah Richter Martens, 60, was found dead in her home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday by a daughter, Miss Florence Richter, 2023 1/2 West Sixth street. According to Coroner Frank C. Keppy, Mrs. Martens died of a heart attack sometime during the night. There will be no inquest.
Born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, May 30, 1887, she came to America 46 years ago, settling first in Chicago. She married Gustave W. Richter in Chicago, in March 1911, and he died in Jun 1923. The following year she married Herman Martens in Davenport and he preceded her in death in November 1938. She had resided in Davenport 30 years and was a member of the Auxiliary to Lodge No. 235, Eagles, and the Northwest Turner society.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Richter and Mrs. Mildred Folson, Davenport; two sons, Gustave Richter and Lester Riley, both of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Louise Matthiesen, Clinton; a brother, Ben Kruse, also of Clinton; and three grandchildren.
The body is at the Hill & Fredericks mortuary.
