Fendt-

Mrs. Caroline Fendt passed away at her home, three-quarters of a mile south of Eldridge at 5 o'clock this morning, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in Pommern, Germany on July 26, 1840. In 1863 she was united in marriage with Charles Fendt. The couple came to America the same year, settling in Buffalo, N. Y. for two years before coming to Scott county where they have since resided. Mr. Fendt passed away 14 years ago. The following children survive: Charles of Garland, S. D., Mrs. William Runge of Chandler, Minn., and Minnie and Albert at home, one brother Fritz Meier and two sisters, Mrs. Christ Jager and Mrs. August Buege who reside in Davenport.
