Davenport Democrat, 29 Aug 1901, p. 4: James McMahon dies at his home, 415 Division street at 9:30 o'clock last evening at the age of 72 years. He was born in County Clare, Ireland, and had been a resident of Davenport for the past 40 yeras. For many years he was the foreman for a leading constuction company. He is survivied by ten children, five sons and the same number of daughters. The sons are James, John, Bernard, Martin, and David, and the daighters are Mrs. (Mary) George Murphy of Wichita, Ka., Mrs. (Margaret) John Britt of Davenport, and Katied, Anne and Ella, who are at home.
The funeral will be at 9 o'clock Friday morning, serives being at St. Mary's church and interment at the Holy Family cemetery.
