The numerous friends of Capt. Hoffbauer, of Buffalo, will be grieved to learn of the death of his estimable wife, about midnight, Thursday. About one week ago she gave birth to a girl-baby, and her labor engendered puerperal fever, the cause of her death as stated. Her maiden name was Virginia Meyers, and she was born in Wheeling, Virginia, in 1841. She married Capt. Hoffbauer July 9, 1857, to whom she bore ten children, seven of whom are still living, the youngest being but a week old, and three are dead. All who knew the deceased speak of her as an excellent wife, devoted mother, an exemplary neighbor, and a lady whose loss will be deeply felt in the community in which she resided for so many years. She will be buried today at 3 o'clock.
