Davenport--George F. Chase, of Davenport, died on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at his sons home. Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society. George was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Davenport, the son of George and Ida (Gerhardt)Chase. He was united in marriage to Mary L.Mathis in June, 1980. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1990. He was employed by Quad City Times as a driver for the Circulation Department for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling and his pets. Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Ann Stevens, Joliet, Ill., Bonnie Morales, Charlotte, Mich., Wilma Carter, Meza, Ariz.; sons, Oliver Smith, Joliet, Charles Rodden, Davenport; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia and Ida.
