Heart, Appendix on Wrong Sides

Davenport, June 25- An operation for appendicitis on 4 year old Georgetta Frances Chase disclosed misplaced heart and appendix, each being on its opposite side of her body and a rare occurance in the opinion of physicians. The girl died following the operation. She had been in perfect health up to within four days of her death when she became ill from a stomach ailment. Surving her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Chase and one sister.

Granddaughter of Clinton Woman Dies; Organs Misplaced.

Georgetta Frances Chase, Davenport, who lived more than three and one-half years with her heart on the right side and her appendix on the left and who died Wednesday in Mercy hospital Davenport, is a granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Frazen, 1007 Main Avenue.

The child's death follwed an emergency operation performed Tuesday evening for appendicitis when the trasnporition of the organs was first discovered. It was said that the case was one in 1,000.

The child is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Chase, 330 West Fifth street, Davenport, Mrs. Chase was formerly Miss Edith Gerhardt of Clinton. Besides the parents, a sister Ida survives and the paternal grandfather Frank Chase of Davenport and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Fazen.

Mrs. Fazen has left for Davenport to attend the funeral.
