GILBERT
Mrs. Martha Ann Gilbert, a pioneer resident of LeClaire, died at 11:55 o'clock Saturday night at the home of her son, John Gilbert in LeClaire. Her death followed an extended illness. Mrs. Gilbert was born in Elizabeth, Ill June 2, 1852 and when five years old came to LeClaire with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkerson. She received her education in the schools of that district and was married to Philip B. Gilbert in Davenport, Oct 20, 1868. Her husband preceded her in death in 1883. Surviving are four sons, Adna Gilbert of Pittsberg, Kan., William Gilbert of Dubuque, Iowa and John and Ray Gilbert of LeClaire, and two brothers, David and Jason Wilkerson, also of LeClaire. The funeral will be held from the home of her son, John Gilbert, in LeClaire at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery, LeClaire.
