Mrs. D. Rogge Called After Long Illness

Was 86 Years of Age and a Life Resident of Scott County.

Mrs. Dorothy Rogge, 86, a life resident of Scott county, passed away at Mercy hospital at 6 p.m. Monday after a lingering illness. She had been a resident at the hospital for many years. Her home was formerly in Sheridan township, R. R. No. 5, on which her son, Phillip Rogge, now resides.

Mrs. Rogge was born in Scott county on Oct. 1, 1842. Her maiden name was Miss Dorothy Meinhardt and she was married to Lawrence Rogge Sept. 26, 1864, at St. Joseph's church by the late Msgr. A. Nierman. For many years Mr. Rogge was a member of the state legislature. He preceded her in death in 1904.

Surviving are one son, Phillip Rogge, R. R. No. 5, and two daughters, Mrs. Anna D. Freund and Mrs. P. W. Freund, both of Bettendorf.

The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home from where the funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be made in Holy Family cemetery. The Rev. George Giglinger will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening.

The Rogge Funeral.

The funeral of Mrs. Dorothy Rogge was held at 8:30 a.m. today from the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. The Rev. George Giglinger celebrated a requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution, and preached the funeral sermon. He also officiated at the committal services in Holy Family cemetery, assisted by the Rev. T. P. Coleman and the Rev. Nicholas Meinhardt who were present in the sanctuary.

Grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were Harry Freund, Irwin Freund, Marcus Rogge, Adolph Kroeger, and Arthur Klindt.

Dorothea Rogge Left Property Worth $19,232

The late Dorothea Rogge, who died Oct 15 at the age of 81 years, left an estate valued at $19,232 of which $8,000 is invested in real estate, according to a preliminary inheritance tax report filed with the clerk of the district court by the American Trust company, executor.
