The old settlers of Davenport are rapidly passing away and soon there will be none left of that brave band who faced the dangers of a new country. Another of this hardy band, Mrs. Adam Weigand, passed away Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence of her son-in-law, Frank Schebler, 1123 West Sixth street. Mrs. Weigand was in her eighty-third year, being born in 1809 in Ollendorf, Germany, and coming to this country in 1837, settling first at Cincinnati and later at Connersville, Ind., and coming to Davenport in 1842, which place has been her home ever since. Her husband, Adam Weigand, died here about eleven years ago. Mrs. Weigand leaves five children, thirty-one grand children and thirteen great grand children. She was a devout member of the Roman Catholic church, as was her husband.

The funeral will take place this morning at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's church with interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
