Death of Mr. Richard Tobin of Winfield Township.

Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock occurred the death of the old and highly respected Scott county farmer, Mr. Richard Tobin of Winfield township. The cause of death was rheumatism of the heart, which ailment the deceased suffered from for the past five years. Mr. Tobin was born in Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1805 and had reached the great age of 89 years and 7 months. He was a resident of this county for the past forty-three years.

Besides many grandchildren, five children survive to mourn his loss, Mrs. Ellen Renihan of this city, Mrs. Patrick Lillis of Madison county, Iowa, Matthew J. Tobin of Winfield township, this county, Mrs. Mary O'Grady of Conway, Iowa, and Mrs. Maggie Conway of Fairbanks, Iowa. The funeral takes place at St. Ann's church, Long Grove, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment at St. Ann's cemetery.

Obsequies of Mr. Tobin.

The funeral of the late Richard Tobin of Long Grove, took place Thursday morning, with solemn services at St. Ann's church at 10 o'clock. Rev. James H. Renihan, who is a grandson of the deceased, officiated at the requiem high Mass, assisted by Father Morrin, pastor of St. Ann's, Rev. J. T. A. Flannagan, president of St. Ambrose college, Father Gleason of Audubon. An eloquent funeral sermon was preached by Rev. James Davis, pastor of Sacred Heart Cathedral of this city. The funeral was very largely attended.
