Page 11Michael M. Heeney, a resident of Davenport almost his entire life, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Rogge, 2006 Gaines street, at 9:45 p.m. Monday following a month's illness.
He was born Feb 10, 1858, in New York City, and came to Davenport with his parents when three weeks old. He had formerly served on the city fire department for 20 years, retiring as an assistant chief. His wife, Emma, died 20 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Conrad of Davenport; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Seng of Lost Nation, and Mrs. Rogge; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bridget Lee of Durant, Mrs. Mayme Burns of New York City; and 2 brothers, Frank of New York City and Hugh of Davenport.Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Halligan funeral home followed by a requiem high mass at 9 a.m. in Holy Family church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday, by Our Lady of Lourdes circles, Daughters of Isabelle.
