Mrs. Pauline C. Mackin,wife of James Mackin, 413 Concord street, died at the family home at 6:30 o’clock Wednesday evening. She had been ill since Monday of this week and her death came very unexpectedly. She was in her 55th year.
Deceased was born July 25, 1871, in Davenport, her maiden name being Pauline Both and 40 years ago she was married to Mr. Mackin by the Very Rev. J.T. A. Flannagan at St. Ambrose college. The couple moved to Jamestown, near Buffalo, Ia., and resided there until 15 years ago when they returned to Davenport.
Besides her husband she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward Henning and Mrs. Edward Martens, Davenport; Mrs. Emil Gravert, Muscatine and the Misses Catherine and Francis, at home; her aged father, Fred both of this city, and one brother, John Both of Wheaton ,Ill.
The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home and will be returned to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henning, 719 South Concord street, this evening, from where the funeral home will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. to St. Alphonsus church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery, Buffalo.
