Spencer Ayres passed away at 3:15 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. And Mrs. C.H. Murphy, 1718 Davenport avenue, Davenport, where he had been making his home for the past week.

Mr. Ayres was born in Pennsylvania and was 62 years old at the time of his death. He came to Scott county when a young man and had been a farmer between Dixon and New Liberty until October of 1918, when he retired. At that time he went to the Murphy residence to make his home, residing there until Oct. 19, 1920, when he went to San Bernadeno, Tex.He had lived in Texas until one week ago when he returned to Davenport.

Deceased was a member of the Blue lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Rochester, Ia.; Zarepath Consistory and Kaaba Temple, Davenport, and was very well known in the vicinity of Wilton and Tipton.

Surviving are one son, Leroy of San Bernadeno and one daughter, Mrs. Warren James of West Liberty, Ia.
