Mrs. Mary Vogelbaugh Follows Son and Sister to Arms of Death
For the third time in four months death came to the Vogelbaugh family when Mrs. Mary Vogelbaugh of 1832 West Sixth street, Davenport, died. Her death occurred at St. Joseph’s hospital in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday morning at 11:30 o’clock. Her son, Harold Vogelbaugh, died on Feb. 6 of this year, and her sister, Mrs. Rudolph Wrage of Buffalo, was buried on May 14.
Mrs. Vogelbaugh left Davenport for Kansas City four weeks ago and entered the hospital on May 13. Her death occurred following an operation performed Thursday last. She was born in Germany on Dec. 5, 1870, her maiden name being Miss Mary Fiedler. She was married to Clem Vogelbaugh on July 14, 1890, at St. Peter’s church, Buffalo, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. A. J. Schulte. She had been a resident of Davenport for many years.
Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Wollenberg, of Kansas City; three sons, Clarence of Rock Island, and Carroll and Earl Vogelbaugh, at home; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Porstman of Kansas City, and one brother, Charles Fiedler of Buffalo, Iowa.
The body arrived in Davenport Saturday morning and was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home from where it will be taken this morning to the late residence. Funeral services will be held from there Monday at 8:30 a.m., with services at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church. Interment will be made in Holy Family cemetery.
