ALBERT C. MARKS

Albert Carl Marks, 80, of 607 W. 16th St., Davenport died Saturday afternoon in St. Luke's Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be in Hill and Fredericks Chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Kenneth Metcalf of St. John's Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Waverly, Iowa. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.

A native of Germany, Mr. Marks was born in 1884 and came to this country with his parents when he was a child. He had lived in Sumner and Strawberry Point, Iowa before coming to Davenport in 1917. For many years he was in business on North Harrison Street. He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church.

In November, 1908, he married Edith Mary Donlon, who survives with two daughters, Muriel Carpenter, Albuquerque, N.M., and Dorothy Brettell, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; a son, Cmdr. James R. Marks, a chaplain with the U.S. Navy, now serving in Boston; eitht grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren
