Davenport Democrat, December 3, 1916

Wilhelm Wunder,one of Scott county's pioneer citizens who had made his home in this city since 1864, passed away at his home, 1603 West Sixth street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Deceased was born in Engelau-gut-Neuhaus, Holstein, Luchtenburg, Germany, Oct 5, 1837, and came to America direct to Davenport July 11, 1864. He was united in marriage Oct 9, 1868, to Miss Christine Ludwig. Mr. Wunder was a member of the I. O. O. F. Scott lodge 37.

Surviving are the following: The wife, Mrs. Christine Wunder; six daughters, Mrs. J. Brueggman, Mrs. Guy Johnson, Mrs. John Rapp, Mrs. J. McCauley, Miss Bertha Wunder and Miss Nettie Wunder; two sons, William Wunder Jr., and Louis Wunder; one brother, Detlef Wunder, and several grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the late home, 1603 West Sixth street, this afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be private. Interment will take place in Fairmount cemetery.
