WELLER

Last evening, shortly after 10 o'clock, occurred the death of John Weller, aged eighty-nine years. Mr. Weller was born in Montgomery county, Pa., in 1819. In December, 1852, he came to Davenport, where he has lived ever since. He has been in the wood and coal business here for years and has always been honest and faithful in his dealings. About three months ago he was compelled to give up business on account of ill health and since that time his health has steadily declined. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss. Of the children, three of them are living in this city, Mrs. James Osborne, Mrs. Mary Meetz, and Mrs. Will Hastings. Of the other three, Mendon and Henry live in Milan, Kan., while A. Weller lives in Lanapasas, Tex. The time of the funeral will be announced later.
