At Mercy hospital this morning occurred the death of Mary, daughter of the late Christ Kautz of Buffalo, of peritonitis at the early age of 22 years. The deceased was a regular received member of the Order of Mercy and was known for her strict piety and devotion to the rules of the sisterhood which she joined about five years ago. The deceased was born at Buffalo, Iowa, where she made her home until about five years ago when she came to Davenport and to the hospital where she united herself to the order to minister to the necessities of stricken humanity. She was gifted with a sunny nature which made her a ministering angel to those unfortunates with whom she came in contact. The funeral will be held from Mercy hospital Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock with solemn requiem mass and interment at the hospital cemetery.
