Edwin A. Sievert, 67 (?), a retired employee of the Rock Island Arsenal and a life resident of Scott County, died suddenly at 6:50 a.m. Thursday in his home, 1660 West Twelfth street.
Born Oct 25, 1872, in Davenport, he received his education here and was married to Frances Porth July 19, 1904(?), in St. Joseph's church, Davenport, by the late Rt. Rev. Magr. Nuermann. The couple had since resided here with the exception of 14 years spent in Donahue(?), Ia.
He was a member of the Machinist Union.
Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Erps, Clinton, Ia. and Mrs. Robert Schumann, Davenport; a son, Ralph also of Clinton; a brother, Eugene H. Sievert, Davenport; a sister, Mrs. George Epping, Davenport; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Runge Chapel and at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.
