Andorthy M. Speer, 74, of Davenport, died Thursday, Aug 29, 1996 at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport.
Services will be 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Family and friends are invited to a fellowship luncheon after the burial at Knights of Columbus, Davenport.
Visitation will be 4-8-P.M. today at Halligan McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service at 7:30pm.
Andorthy Scott was born May 6, 1922, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of Walter and Beatrice Whalen Scott. She married Merle E. Speer on June 22, 1942, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Merle E.; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Blount, Bettendorf, Tina and Gordon Anderson, LeClaire, Iowa, Mary and Dan Schulte, Bettendorf, Maureen and Ken Trafton, Indianapolis, Andorthy and Randy Kilby, Davenport, and Karen and Ira Lathan, Aurora, Ill; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael M. and Mary Louise Speer, Bettendorf, Richard and Joan Speer, Indianapolis, William J. Speer, Princeton, Iowa and Bob and Sandy Speer, Roland A. and Carol Speer and Joe Speer and his fiancee, Pam Martin, all of Davenport; 50 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Therese Karwath, Davenport, and Rose Pfeiler, Dubuque, Iowa.
Mrs. Speer was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Speer, in 1963 and brothers, John and Paul Scott
