The Davenport Leader and Democrat; Thursday Evening, January 22, 1925:

Willard

Henry Willard died this morning at 8:15 o’clock at his residence, 1831 West Ninth street, after a short illness.

The deceased was born Dec. 31, 1841, at Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. In 1841 [sic], he married Miss Margretha Wilkins in Germany, and they came to the United States, direct to Davenport, 45 years ago. For 15 years, Mr. Willard was in the dairy business, from which he retired nine years ago. He was fraternally a member of the Sons of Herman.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Gust Meye, Mrs. Julius Prienitz, and Mrs. Henry Bruhn; four sons, Harry, John, Emil and Frank, all of Davenport, and a brother, Fred, in Germany. Sixteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. On daughter preceded him in death several years ago.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary, and funeral services will be held from the Runge chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment will take place in Oakdale cemetery.

The Willers [sic] Funeral

Funeral services for Herman Willers, who passed away at his home, 1831 West Ninth street, Thursday morning, will be held from the Runge chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

Interment will take place in Fairmount cemetery.
Mr. Willers was born Dec. 31, 1841, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to the United States, direct to Davenport, 45 years ago. In 1864 he was united in marriage to Miss Margretha Wilkens in Germany. Nine years ago he retired from the milk business in which he had been for 15 years.

Fraternally he was affiliated with the Sons of Herman.

Besides his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Just Meye, Mrs. Julius Prignitz, and Mrs Henry Bruhn, and four sons, Harry, John, Frank and Emil, all of Davenport survive him. One brother, Fred, in Germany, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

A daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Runge chapel for Henry Willers. Interment will take place in Fairmount cemetery.

Willers Funeral

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Herman Willers at the Runge chapel. Rev. Carl Holterman officiated at the chapel and at the grave in Fairmount cemetery. Six grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were Elmer and Albert Prignitz, Harry and John Meye, George Ruebling and Walter Kistenmacker.

Willers Will Leaves Estate to the Widow

Property of the late Herman Willers, who died Jan. 22, will pass to the widow, Mrs. Margaretha Willers, under the terms of the joint will executed in 1905 and filed in ditrict court today for probate. Mrs. Willers is named executrix. Ruymann & Ruymann are the probating attorneys.
