The Davenport Daily Leader; Sunday, February 21, 1904:

Loppe

Herman A. J. Loppe of 2222 Bowditch street, passed away at the residence yesterday morning.

Deceased was born in Schermeisel, Germany, Feb. 27, 1860 and came to America in 1876, residing for a time at Moscow, Ia., and coming to Davenport four years later. Shortly after coming to this city he was married to Miss Caroline Lahl. Mr. Loppe was employed at the Sterns Paint Works for a long time and for the past few years has been assistant shipping clerk at the Glucose Sugar Refining Co.

The survivors are his wife, Caroline H., three daughters, Martha C., Esther E., and Hulda V. Loppe, and two sons, Herman A., and Carl H.

The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the residence and the interment will be at Fairmount cemetery.
