Davenport Democrat - 24 June 1940: Mrs. Pauline Gimar, 78, wife of A. A. Gimar, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. VanArnam, 503 W. Seventeenth Street after an extended illness. She had resided at 1325 West Seventh Street. Born Nov. 16, 1861, in Calamus, IA, she was educated there and married Stephen Saxton Sept. 1, 1879, in DeWitt, IA. He preceded her in death. In 1905, she came to Davenport and was married here to Mr. Gimar on April 2, 1913. Surviving besides the husband are three daughters, Mrs. C. A. VanArnam, Davenport and Mrs. Ida Ames and Mrs. A. Fender, both of Seattle, Wash. A step-son, Archie F. Gimar, Rock Island, a brother, Fred Schiber (sic), Correctionville, IA and four grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. The body is at the Runge mortuary
pending funeral arrangements.Follow-up Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Gimar, 1325 West Seventh Street who died Sunday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Runge chapel. Incineration will be in the Davenport crematorium.
