Mounts

Mrs. Katherine Sentinel Mounts, 48 years of age, of 218 Brown street, passed away Sunday afternoon at 3:45 o’clock at Bellevue hospital, Muscatine, Iowa, following a serious operation and a long illness.

Katherine Carter was born in Illinois City, Illinois, March 8, 1876, and was married to Sylvester Mounts, July 15, 1885 [sic - 1895] at Davenport. She received her education in the schools of Fairport, Iowa. For a number of years, the couple lived at Buffalo, Iowa, and then lived at Muscatine for seven years. For the past twelve years, they have made their home in Davenport.

Surviving are the husband, Sylvester Mounts, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank G. Hartman of Davenport and two grandchildren.

The remains were taken to the Hill and Fredericks Chapel, 415 Harrison street, and will be taken to the home of the daughter, 1414 West 8th street, Davenport, Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon with short services at the Hartman home at 1:30 o’clock, and with services at the Friends’ church in Buffalo at 3 o’clock. Interment will be made at Rosehill cemetery at Buffalo.
