Burmeister

Carl Wilhelm Ludwig Burmeister, one of the pioneer members of the Davenport Turngemeinde, and a prominent citizen of Davenport, passed away at his home, 309 Harrison street, last evening. Blood poisoning was the cause of his death.

Mr. Burmeister was born in Micklenburg-Schwerin, Germany in 1827, and was therefore, 77 years of age. He came to America in 1852 and settled first in Michigan. He came to Davenport two years later, and has made his home here since.

Mr. Burmeister was married in 1860 to Miss Schnoor, who passed away three years ago. He leaves two children, Mrs. Julia Kelling and William Burmeister.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the residence and the interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.
