Stevens

Mrs. Mary Ann Stevens, a resident of Davenport for the past 25 years, died at the family home 1001 East 29th street, Wednesday at 1 o’clock after an illness extending over the past two weeks, altho [sic] she had been ailing for some time.

She was born in Murg, Switzerland, April 10, 1849, and was 79 years of age. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. H. Dvorak of Hawkeye, Ia., Mrs. H. W. Fert of Davenport, Mrs. W. H. Walter and Miss Mary Black of Davenport, also. One step-son, Peter Stevens, of Moline, also survives, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Alphone Searns, of Mineral, Ill. There are also eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday from the family home, 1001 East 29 street, at 8:30 o’clock to St. Paul the Apostle church at 9 a.m. Interment will be made in St. Marguerite’s cemetery.
