Beckmann
George C. Beckmann, 58 years of age, passed away at his home, 1222 College Ave., at 5:10 o’clock this morning after an illness extending over the past six months.
Deceased was born November 4, 1855 at Burlington, Iowa, and moved to Davenport twenty years ago. He was married to Miss Rose Meyer, June 15, 1904, at St. Joseph’s church here, the ceremony being performed by Rev. A. Niermann.
For many years he was engaged as a mechanic at Silvis, where he remained until the time of the strike.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Rose Beckmann, three sons, Stephen, Joseph and Anthony, all at home and two brothers, Henry J., of Davenport and Stephen J. of Burlington, with two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Millett of Davenport and Mrs. Clara Auchmer of Burlington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the home, 1222 College Ave., with 9 o’clock services at St. Joseph’s church.
Interment will be made in St. Marguerite’s cemetery.
