OBITUARY
GOULD, Joseph Weaver. The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.R. Fort, 583 West Fifteenth street, with interment at Oakdale cemetery.
Joseph Weaver Gould was born of Quaker parentage at Middletown, R.I., Dec. 4, 1822, and was 82 years old. He was married at Williamantic, Conn., Sept. 18, 1848, to Rebecca Weaver Goddard, whom he survived nearly eighteen years. Seven children were born to them, five of whom are living: Mrs. Jas. Beaton, Denver, Colo.; Ezra R., Eric, Colo.; Charles S., Valentine, Neb. and Horace D., and Mrs. W.R. Fort, both of Davenport. He is also survived by two brothers: Maj. Wm. Penn Gould, Vincennes, Ind., and John Gould, Providence, R.I. Mr. Gould was a Civil war veteran, having fought under General Burnside at the battle of Fredricksburg. After being honorably discharged, he came west with his family to Davenport, where he had since made his home.
