OBITUARY

WALLACE, Amelia A. Died at 3:15 a.m. Funeral Saturday.

Mrs. Amelia A. Wallace was the wife of J.C. Wallace and the daughter of Major J.W. Ingalls and Eliza Struther Ingalls, and was born in Dresden, O., April 20, 1828. She was married on June 6, 1854, to J.C. Wallace, who was then a resident of Dresden. In March, 1857, they came to Davenport, and have made this city their place of residence ever since. To them were born a daughter, Mrs. Frank Bond of Washington, D.C. and a son, Arthur S. Wallace of this city.

Mrs. Wallace was reared in a Christian home, where the advancement of Christ's kingdom was the first interest at all times. From such a home she went out with the high principles to which she adhered throughout her life, and which, with her dignity and gentleness of character, gave her life a rare charm and power over her children and all who came within the circle of her influence. She was a devout member of the First Presbyterian church of this city during the forty-eight years of her residence in Davenport.

The funeral will take place from the residence of her son, A.S. Wallace at 2 p.m. Saturday. Friends are invited. The burial at Oakdale will be private.
