Yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock occurred the death of Hans D. Petersen at his home, 2244 West Second street, death coming at the age of 69 years, four months and 17 days.

Mr. Petersen was born Oct. 12, 1840, in Wittenbeck by Goettob, Germany, and came to America and direct to Davenport in 1868. He was married to Miss Maria Frahm, Aug. 1, 1870, in Davenport. The young couple settled on a farm one mile west of the city limits on the Telegraph road, where he conducted a dairy farm for many years. Seven years ago he discontinued the dairy business, but remained on the farm and two years ago he retired and moved to this city. He was a member of the Black Hawk Sick Relief society and of Scott lodge of the Odd Fellows. Both societies will assist in the funeral services, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence. Burial will be made in the City cemetery. Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maria Petersen and seven children, Mrs. Anna Hamann, Mrs. Louisa Brugmann, Mrs. Kate Wilckens, Hans Petersen, Jr., George Petersen, William Petersen, and Charles Petersen.
