Slugged a Farmer
~
Davenport, Jan. 5. – Masked robbers entered the home of Fritz Schlichting, several miles from Davenport, and this afternoon knocked Schlichting unconscious with a sandbag.Other members of the family were threatened with death if they did not hand over the money in the house.
Schlichting was a farmer and evidently thought to have a large sum of money concealed about the place. Although left prostrate and bleeding, the wife and son gave up but a small sum. The sheriff and police are in pursuit of the robbers.
